The '87 Chevy 4X4 is terrific. A powerful dual purpose vehicle, the 1987 Chevy 4X4 has an unforgettable ride. Off the road or on, it performs well. It is about power and simplicity. It sports an eye-catching chrome grill -- big and brutal. There are no bucket seats in this workhorse -- just one long truck seat that spans the cab. The feel of the vinyl interior is memorable. The truck's interior is big. If someone likes big spaces, this pickup catches that preference in every detail. It has a big feel to it. And the suspension system is terrific. This pickup can be turned on a dime, and anybody can feel how easy this truck is to drive just by touching the steering wheel.
Chevrolet makes handsome trucks and this one is no exception. It is 25 years old and used parts from any junk yard will fit it -- from a lot of years and for a lot of models, like the Suburban, the Tahoe or the cousin GM trucks. It wouldn't be surprising to pull a water pump from a '98 Silverado and find it works just great in the '87. As 4X4s go there have been better, but when an '87 Chevy is in gear and the 350 engine is pushing it over rough terrain it transcends mere competition. The way the front end looks -- like the Nova when it first came out -- only adds to its legacy. It's an unforgettable experience. The indisputable truth about the '87 is that it is a handsome vehicle. So, what are the cons? Frankly, it aged well, so it's tough to name any. The dash console has sharp, over-sized corners, and the cab looks like a bad fit for the pickup bed. The bed looks a little too small -- which is an optical illusion. This truck is not easy on the gas. But that's about it. The truck's virtues far outweigh its shortcomings.
This truck is terrific for hauling loads. The bed will hold a lot. It will easily fit a couch and a refrigerator. Cap the back with a topper and take it camping. Back roads are a specialty for this truck. All you need is a good topographical map and you can find anything in the wilderness. It is an every day vehicle, as well. If it is clean, drive it to work. It's kind of a waste to use this truck for field work because nobody cares how good looking a truck is in the field, but after a long day of miserable work it is a morale booster.
The 1987 Chevy 4X4 truck's features include a four-wheel drive suspension system, a 5.7L V8 fuel injected engine and a two-door regular cab. Everyone should drive one because it is a practical truck. It is so big people that feel safe in it wherever it goes. Chevrolet has been the best selling vehicle in America since 1929 and for good reason.
